Sulfur hexafluoride gas is widely used in a series of conductive equipment, such as power switches, enclosed capacitor banks, transformers, high-power cables, mutual conductance sensors, lightning rods, etc. In addition, the effectiveness of sulfur hexafluoride gas is also active in the fields of particle accelerators, X-rays, tracer analysis and non-metallic fluxing. Now, sulfur hexafluoride gas has become a new generation of insulating ultra-high voltage resistant medium after gas and oil. It is used as arc extinguishing and large-capacity transformer insulation material in high-voltage switches, and can also be used in particle accelerators and lightning arresters. Taking advantage of the good chemical stability and non-corrosiveness of sulfur hexafluoride gas, it can be used as a refrigerant in the refrigeration industry (operating temperature between -45~0℃). Sulfur hexafluoride gas has a high stopping ability for α-particles, so it is also used in radiochemistry. It can also be used as an anti-adsorbent. Currently, sulfur hexafluoride gas is mainly used in the power industry. Sulfur hexafluoride gas (sulfur hexafluoride gas) is used for insulation and/or arc extinguishing in 4 types of electrical equipment; sulfur hexafluoride circuit breakers and GIS (here refers to sulfur hexafluoride enclosed combined electrical appliances, internationally known as “gas insulated switchgear”), sulfur hexafluoride load switchgear, sulfur hexafluoride insulated transmission pipelines, sulfur hexafluoride transformers and sulfur hexafluoride insulated substations. 80% of sulfur hexafluoride gas is used for high and medium voltage power equipment.
