Hazard statement: Contains high pressure gas; may explode when heated
Uses:
1. Taking advantage of its “lonely” characteristics, we fill it in light bulbs to prevent the oxidation of tungsten filaments and slow down the volatilization rate of tungsten filaments, extending the service life of light bulbs.
2. Preparation of nitrogen fertilizers
3. Synthetic dyes
4. Manufacture of explosives can be used as leak detectors for high vacuum devices, nuclear reactors, spacecraft, etc. and protective gases for welding of metals such as magnesium, zirconium, aluminum, and titanium.
5. It can also be used to replace inert gas as a shielding gas when welding metal.
6. Nitrogen is an almost inert diatomic gas with extremely inactive chemical properties. The gas molecules are larger than oxygen molecules, not easy to expand and contract with heat and cold, and have a small deformation range. Its penetration speed into the tire wall is about 30-40% slower than air, which can maintain stable tire pressure, improve tire driving stability, and ensure driving comfort; nitrogen has low audio conductivity, equivalent to 1/5 of ordinary air. Using nitrogen can effectively reduce tire noise and improve driving quietness.
